Exercises for neck and shoulders
Tensions in your neck and shoulders can be a result of stress. This can lead to pain and to even more stress.
The following exercises can help you relax your neck and shoulders:
Pull up your shoulders:
Breathe in, make fists and pull your shoulders towards your ears, when you breathe out relax your neck, shoulders, arms, hands and fingers.
Stretch and relax your neck muscles:
Breathing in look up, breathing out look down and lower your head; when your head is facing down make very soft movements – move your head to the left side and then to the right side.
Make very small and gentle nods and while doing so look over to the left side and then to the right.
For the lateral neck muscles:
When you breath in bring your right ear towards your right shoulder, breathing out feel the tension, after a few breaths release and continue with the left side.
Imagine that your nose is a paintbrush and let it draw infinity loops. Feel your neck and modify the movements / loops as feels good for you. If you want you can also close your eyes.
