Agile Mammoths Games – a FUNference
Have you ever been on a “fun”ference?
FUNference is a conference while having fun. The company Colors in Projects is organizing their second FUNference “Agile Mammoths Games” in Cluj on 9th March 2017.
After reading this interview with Daniela Ganea, project manager at Colors in Projects and responsible for the event, you will know what to expect.
What is Agile Mammoths Games about?
Agile Mammoths Games is an event, a team adventure, whose main purpose is learning Agile Project Management in a fun and entertaining way. We create it to offer our participants great and long lasting memories!
How is Agile Mammoths Games different? Compared to other IT or project management conferences?
Building on the traditional conference concept to which methods of “playful design” were applied Agile Mammoths Games has become a FUN-ference. Last year we wanted to surprise the IT community in Cluj and this is how the new concept came to life. Instead of having participants to watch numerous presentations, without any input in the unfolding of the event, they now can decide where to go and what to do in order to prove that their team is the best. Whether they go to workshops, Agile Talks sessions, or decide to play boardgames, take tests and solve case studies, they have the chance to learn or practice Agile Project Management. And the best part is that participants are grouped in teams and are able to self-organize and decide upon their strategy. They will gain badges and will be scored depending on how well their missions were fulfilled. At the end of the event, participants will have a retrospective in order to evaluate their performance. So, we are Agile all the way! J

Who will I meet there? Speakers? Audience?
Our guides in this adventure are Agile Mentors, such as Jeff Nielsen (Excel at Change: the Hidden Differentiator), Chris Lukassen (The Product Samurai ) and John Ferguson Smart (Feature Mapping – from stories to executable specs). You can also meet some of our local Agile Coaches: Sorin Sfirlogea and Matei Puiu. Experienced practitioners will share some of their success stories and engage with participants in their quests: Simona Bonghez, Elisabeth Siencnik, Cristina Morariu, Bogdan Muresan, Ciprian Sorlea, Ovidiu Matan, Alexandru Ursa and many others.
At the event you will meet with fellow developers, solution architects, team leaders from the IT industry, and also practitioners who are passionate about Agile and continuous development.
What will I take home?
You will have the opportunity to participate to an event with an innovative concept and you will be able to learn new things or consolidate the existing knowledge in a fun and engaging atmosphere. Practice teamwork and competition with other teams to win as many badges. Practice Agile and Lean principles on the spot due to the nature of the competition: each team will develop its own strategy and self-organize and establish their priorities in order to fulfill them.
Anything else you would like to share?
We warmly welcome you to the event if you are interested in Agile approaches and eager to learn by having fun. If we convinced you, please check our website (www.colorsinprojects.ro/evenimente) for more details and registration.
